Dikutip dari Tribunnews.com (07/01/2019), Ustadz Arifin Ilham kembali harus menjalani pengobatan akibat penyakit yang dideritanya setelah sebelumnya sembuh dari kanker nasofaring stadium 4A.
Kabar tentang sakitnya Ustadz Arifin Ilham diinformasikan Alvin, putranya, melalui akun Instagram @alvin_411 pada Senin (7/1/2019).
“Mohon doanya semoga abi @kh_m_arifin_ilham disembuhkan dan kembali sehat walafiat. Sehingga bisa kembali aktif membersihkan hati umat ini dengan asbab zikir dan nasehat2 abi, Aamiin. Mohon doanya ya teman-teman.” tulis Alvin.
Belum diketahui sakit apa yang diderita Ustadz Arifin Ilham. Namun yang jelas, sakit yang kini diderita Ustadz Arifin Ilham bukanlah kanker, seperti yang dialaminya beberapa waktu lalu.
"Iya benar mas. Tapi ini bukan sakit kanker lagi, beda," ungkap Alvin menjawab pertanyaan seorang warganet di kolom komentar.
Gubernur DKI Jakarta, Anies Baswedan pun datang menjenguk serta mendoakan dan memberi semangat.
Dalam fotonya sendiri terlihat Ustaz Arifin Ilham duduk di antara Alvin Faiz dan Anies Baswedan. Tubuh sang ulama terlihat kurus dengan selang infus yang terpasang di tangannya.

Kondisi terakhir Ustadz Arifin Ilham sendiri sangatlah memprihatinkan karena nampak wajahnya sangat pucat dan tubuh terlihat lebih kurus.
Ustaz Arifin mengenakan kaus putih dengan selang infus tertancap di tangan kanan. Ustaz kondang itu terlihat semakin kurus, memakai kaos dan penutup kepala warna putih serta berselimut hijau.
Tak hanya putra dari Ustadz Arifin Ilham saja, ustadz kondang Yusuf Mansur juga meminta doa kepada seluruh masyarakat untuk kesembuhan Ustadz Arifin Ilham serta Aa Gym yang kabarnya juga sakit.

Ternyata sosok ulama penuh kontroversi yakni Tengku Zulkarnain juga ikut mengirimkan doa kepada Ustadz Arifin Ilham.
Wakil Sekretaris Jenderal (Wasekjen) Majelis Ulama Indonesia (MUI), Tengku Zulkarnain mendoakan kesembuhan bagi Pendiri Majelis Az-Zikra KH Muhammad Arifin Ilham yang diketahui saat ini sedang sakit.
